Live events are the product of many distinct technical and creative disciplines working in parallel. Below are the ten primary Elements of Production we plan, specify and coordinate across every show — from corporate keynotes to outdoor festivals, delivered worldwide. Each element brings its own suppliers, kit, crew and risks; our role as your independent production partner is to integrate them into a single, seamless delivery.

01. Crew & Labour

Crew & Labour

The people behind the production are arguably more important than any piece of equipment on site. This category covers the full team that delivers a live event: the Production Management layer that engages, directs and coordinates every other supplier; the Technical Crew and Department Heads whose competence directly shapes the audience experience; and the Stage and Local Crew who provide the physical effort that gets a build in on time.

02. Sound (Audio)

Sound (Audio)

Sound is the foundation that most events succeed or fail on, regardless of how visual they appear. The audio category covers the Front of House system delivering the mix to the audience, the Monitors that let performers hear themselves on stage, the Microphones and Input Sources that capture every voice and instrument, the Mixing and Processing that shapes the final sound, and the Backline instruments and amplification that musicians perform on.

03. Lighting

Lighting

Lighting shapes how an audience reads the stage — illuminating performers and content, directing focus, defining mood, and supporting the narrative of the show. The category brings together Conventional Fixtures for reliable wash and key light, Moving Lights for dynamic effects and aerial work, LED and effect fixtures that decorate and animate the space, the Control and Data infrastructure that drives all of it, and the Special Effects that punctuate impact moments.

04. Video

Video

Video is the discipline that has become the most visible at most modern events, from large-format LED Screens and projection to broadcast-quality multi-camera coverage. The category covers the LED Screens and Walls that frame the stage, Projection for blended widescreens and projection mapping, Cameras and Capture for image magnification and recording, the Vision Mixing and Playback that selects what is shown, and the Broadcast and Streaming systems that reach a remote audience.

05. Communications (Comms)

Communications (Comms)

Communications covers every system that moves signal or conversation around an event site, from the AV Signal Cables and Networks that physically connect production equipment together, through the Internet Connectivity that the production team, clients, stakeholders and audience all depend on, the 2-Way Radios that coordinate site-wide operations, and the dedicated Show Comms that the production team uses to call and run the live show.

06. Rigging

Rigging

Rigging is one of the highest-consequence disciplines in live event production — the structural systems that safely suspend equipment above performers and audience. The category covers the Trussing and Structures that form the load-bearing framework, the Motors and Hoists that lift it to working height, the Hardware and Consumables that connect everything together, and the Theatrical Draping installed at height by the same teams to mask, frame and shape the visual environment.

07. Power & Electrical Distribution

Power & Electrical Distribution

Power is the foundation every other discipline depends on, yet it remains the least visible part of a production when done well. The category covers the Mains Distribution that splits an incoming supply across departments and fixtures, the Generators that provide independent supply at outdoor sites or where mains is unavailable, and the Cabling and Connectors that carry power from source to every rack, fixture and rig on site.

08. Scenic & Set

Scenic & Set

Scenic and Set defines the visual environment of an event beyond the stage itself — and it is often the single most distinctive feature an audience remembers. The category covers Stage Backdrops that frame the performance area in branded or themed surfaces, Custom Builds such as photo-booths, totems and bespoke focal pieces, and Exhibition Stands ranging from standardised shell-scheme bays to fully bespoke, custom-built brand environments.

09. Staging

Staging

Staging is the physical platform from which an event is performed and presented, and the discipline that determines whether every audience member can see the action clearly. The category covers Stage Decks and Platforms that form the main performance area and any raised positions, the Stairs, Ramps and Access that get performers, presenters and accessibility users safely on and off, and the Automation and Moving Stages that bring motion to the show.

10. Infrastructure & Overlay

Infrastructure & Overlay

Infrastructure and Overlay is the temporary built environment that surrounds the production itself — the structures, services and operational provisions that turn a site into a functioning event venue. The category covers Temporary Structures such as marquees and modular cabins, the Fencing, Barriers and Crowd Management that shapes audience movement, the Sanitation, Welfare and Site Services that keep the site liveable, and the Accreditation, Security and Licensing that authorises the event to take place.
