Management
Management covers many elements. Clients outsource all or just one aspect — we're happy to support in whatever format works for you.
Management Elements
Management within events refers to the planning, organization, coordination, and execution of all the logistical and operational aspects of an event to ensure its smooth and successful implementation.
To support your search for the relevant required service, we've divided the supported management elements into five divisions.
N.B. — Our ethos does not align with this rigid division: we acknowledge the benefits of embracing crossover and collaboration. We loosely define the five supported management elements as:
1. Project Management
Project management involves the planning, organizing, and coordinating of all aspects of an event to ensure its successful execution. It includes tasks such as:
- Budgeting and financial oversight
- Scheduling and timeline management
- Venue selection and contracting
- Logistics and vendor management
- Staffing and resource allocation
- Ensuring alignment with client goals and objectives
Event project managers oversee all phases of the event lifecycle — from concept development to post-event evaluation — making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently while staying on time and within budget.
2. Operational Management
Operational management refers to the real-time coordination and oversight of all activities taking place at the event location — ensuring that the event runs smoothly from setup to teardown.
It involves managing logistics, staff, vendors, and attendees within the venue space. Sometimes known as onsite or floor management, it is the visible backbone of a successful live event.
3. Production Management
Event production management focuses on the technical and logistical aspects of bringing an event to life. It involves coordinating all elements needed for the event's execution:
- Audiovisual setups and technical infrastructure
- Stage design and set build
- Lighting and sound
- Equipment sourcing and management
- On-site crew coordination
Production managers oversee the timeline, crew, and suppliers to ensure everything runs smoothly while maintaining the event's quality and flow.
4. Safety Management
Event safety management involves planning and implementing measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees, staff, and participants. This includes:
- Risk assessment and hazard identification
- Crowd control planning
- Emergency planning and response protocols
- First aid readiness
- Compliance with local regulations and safety standards
Event safety managers coordinate with security teams, medical staff, and other stakeholders to handle emergencies effectively and minimise risks.
5. Creative (Content) Management
Creative (Content) Management refers to the planning, creation, organisation, and distribution of all content associated with an event. This content drives engagement before, during, and after the event, and plays a crucial role in:
- Marketing and audience acquisition
- Attendee interaction and experience
- Post-event follow-up and measurement
